Classic Christmas fairytales play a crucial role in generating Christmas spirit, and the enchanting ballet performance “The Nutcracker” by the Saint Petersburg National Ballet Theatre certainly tops the nice list.

Set during Christmas time, the story follows a young girl named Masha, who is gifted a Nutcracker doll that magically comes to life and whisks her away on an extraordinary adventure. Combine the timeless charm of this beloved Christmas tale with the grace and beauty of world-class ballet, and you’re treated to stunning choreography, vibrant costumes, and breathtaking sets that encapsulate the wonder and magic of the season.

3. A Voyage Back In Time (Now till 2027)

Just like in the classic Christmas movie “Scrooge”, travel back in time and experience the rich history of Singapore through the captivating “A Voyage Back In Time” exhibition by the Children’s Museum Singapore.

Look forward to an immersive theatre show complete with fun animation, a bustling marketplace filled with traditional shophouses and stories of the shopkeepers who once worked there and many other photo-worthy exhibits that explore the sights, sounds and trades of yesteryear.

Let the little ones try their hand at unique crafts and skills like being a street barber or a traditional letter writer, and designing their own custom stamps in a special post office. Bridge the generational gap this Christmas and celebrate our nation’s diverse and vibrant culture.

4. The Art of the Brick (Now till 29 Dec)

This vast collection features life-size sculptures of everything from a nearly 20-foot-long T-Rex to human figures, animals and even famous masterpieces – all crafted entirely from LEGO bricks.

Embrace your own creativity with your kids in the interactive playground area, where you can build your own LEGO sculptures and let your imagination run wild – perfect for families looking to create memories together this festive season.

'Tis the season to celebrate – especially since this year marks the 200th anniversary of Chamber Music and Arts Singapore (CMAS)! To commemorate this milestone, CMAS is launching a five-year project honouring the golden era of classical chamber music.

This year’s project, titled “1824” – the year Beethoven completed his final symphony – will span multiple venues in Singapore, offering everyone the chance to immerse themselves in the music and culture of Vienna during this iconic period.

Expect “Evening Concerts” by internationally-acclaimed chamber musicians at the Esplanade Recital Studio and “Concerts for Children” specially designed and curated for those aged zero to six and six to 12 at The Arts House.

There’s even a “Wind Chamber Masterclass and Open Conversation” if you’re looking to try your hand at the art form. Or, just sit back, relax and enjoy “A Friendsgiving Dinner” in collaboration with Plain Vanilla cafe, whereby you can dine while tuning in to music performed live by CMAS musicians.

6. SSO Christmas Concert 2024 (12 - 14 Dec)
