The SG Culture Pass initiative marks an exciting new chapter in Singapore’s ever-growing arts and heritage scene, inviting citizens to discover all that this little red dot has to offer.
The initiative was officially announced by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong during his Budget 2025 speech on 18 Feb, 2025. Today, the official SG Culture Pass website has been launched. Here’s a rundown of everything you need to know:
SG Culture Pass is an initiative that encourages Singaporeans to support local arts and heritage. It offers S$100 in credits – which can be used for a variety of experiences, including performances, exhibitions, learning tours and workshops – any time between 1 Sept, 2025 and 31 Dec, 2028.
WHO IS SG CULTURE PASS FOR?
All Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above in 2025 are eligible. This is defined as Singaporeans who are born on or before 31 Dec, 2007 and Singapore Citizens as of 31 Dec, 2024. This is part of a broader effort to make our local arts and heritage scene more accessible and engaging for the public.

WHY SHOULD I BE EXCITED ABOUT SG CULTURE PASS?
Speaking during a townhall at the Singtel Waterfront Theatre on 21 Feb, 2025, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore Edwin Tong said that the goal of SG Culture Pass is to make local arts and heritage more accessible to more Singaporeans.
“They can gain exposure to different genres of artforms, of their own choice and that’s important. They decide how they spend their resources. This, in turn, lowers the barriers to accessibility,” he said. “And in turn, we hope it catalyses an interest; develop, in as many Singaporeans as possible, a lifelong interest in the arts and heritage, whilst at the same time, strengthening support for all of us here – our local practitioners in the arts, culture, and heritage space.”
For those who have never been to a cultural event, performance or exhibition, the SG Culture Pass will provide that very opportunity to be introduced to Singapore’s rich offerings.
“And, who knows, after the first taste, some will come back for more,” shared Minister Tong.
Minister Tong stressed that the significance of the SG Culture Pass goes beyond the dollar value alone.
“I see it as a catalyst that can help shift mindsets towards local arts and culture offerings, allowing us to appreciate local content more,” he said “It also allows us to more deeply, and over time also more emotionally connect with the Singapore cultural practitioners… taking our entire arts and heritage industry to new heights.”
With S$100 credits on hand, the initiative is your chance to fully explore the diverse range of arts and heritage events available here on our sunny island. So, take a chance and be a part of Singapore’s evolving arts and heritage narrative!
